Past:
Pioneer Gourmet Coffee was founded by Luigi Cicchelli, a fourth-generation coffee roaster from Italy, who moved to Canada to explore and develop his passion for giving customers the best possible cup of coffee. With time and practice, he developed a keen understanding of specific bean characteristics and what is needed to draw out each bean's unique qualities during the roasting process.
With lots of love for the business, more than a decade later he felt it was time to retire. This is when My Cafe Internation PLC stepped in and purchased Pioneer Coffee from the Cicchelli's in December of 2007, and changed the operating name to Cafe Invento in July of 2008.
Present:
Colin Burton and Harry Kullman, two Kelowna resident entrepreneurs, recognized the real potential of this company. Realizing that a lot of existing customers are loyal lovers to Pioneer Coffees, they saw a great opportunity to expand its sale with good marketing, guaranteed delivery of fresh coffee and great customer service.
These new owners are not alone. As part of their due diligence they have commissioned Luigi Cicchelli, the original founder, to mentor them in the art of roasting a great quality coffee. The Okanagan now has a choice for local gourmet coffee at their fingertips.
